Son of Brien of the Gastine. His father was an evil man who had invaded the Blanquemore Valley and the Lac as Jumeles. When his father was slain by Arthur's Sir Meriadeuc, whose family owned the land, Galien pressed his father's former conquests and besieged Meriadeuc's family in the castle of Tygan. Gawain eventually joined the defenders and killed Galien.
