An Arthurian warrior in Culhwch and Olwen. His epithet in Welsh is gwallt-afwyn, which R. S. Loomis suggests as an origin for the name Gawain. Almost certainly related in origin to Gwarae Golden Hair, he may also be the origin of Gorvain Cadrut.
