A virtuous ancestor of Lancelot and Galahad, descended from Joseph of Arimathea. His father was named Isaiah, and his son, Lancelot, was Sir Lancelot of the Lake’s grandfather. He was a noble and valiant king. He married the daughter of King Maronel (Maronex) of Gaul, inherited the kingdom, and established his posterity in France.
