LAUNCEOR
Lanceor
A knight from Ireland who served Arthur. He left Arthur’s court to avenge the death of the Lady of the Lake on Sir Balin, who had beheaded her. Balin killed him in the joust, leading Launceor’s lover, Lione or Colombe, to kill herself in sorrow. King Mark of Cornwall had the lovers entombed, and erected a monument to their tragic tale. Tristan and Lancelot later fought a fierce duel at Launceor’s tomb.
