One of two giants said to be among the earliest inhabitants of Britain, although they are usually combined into a single gigantic being known as Gogmagog. If the two were originally separate beings, their combination might have been a later Christian attempt to remove them from the biblical characters of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38, passim; Revelation 20:8).
