Descendants of the Alans, a Sarmatian people who still inhabit the Caucasus today. They tell a story that is very similar to the death of Arthur. In this their hero, Batradz, received a mortal wound and, knowing that his time was limited, commanded that his sword be thrown into some nearby water.
