THEREUS

In Claris et Laris, a Roman emperor who demanded tribute from Arthur and invaded France (or Britain) when Arthur refused. Arthur’s forces decimated Thereus’s army—composed of rulers from around Europe, Asia, and Africa—and Thereus fled. He is obviously inspired by Lucius from the chronicles.
