Abaddon, Abbadon - Sometimes known as Apollyon - Prince of war. Advisor. Ruin. Destruction. The minister of death and author of havoc on earth. Destroyer. The identity of Abaddon with Asmodeus, the demon of impurity, has been asserted, but not proven.

Abatu - An earth bound form of destructive/negative energy in the Order of the Nine Angels. Associated with rites of sacrifice.

Abdiel - Lord of slavery.

Abduxel - One of the demonic rulers of the lunar mansions.

Abigar - Can foretell future and give military advice. Some say he's the same as Abigor.

Abigor - Horseman with a scepter and lance, commanding 60 legions. A warrior demon. Some say he's the same as Abigar.

Abiku - A demon of night in West Africa.

Abracassus - An Asian demon.

Abyss

Acheron - River in Hades.

Aclahayr - Of the fourth hour of the Nuctemeron, the genius spirit.

Adad, Addu - God of the storm (Babylonian).

Adramalech, Adramaleck - Prince of Fire. Chancellor and Hich Council of Devils. In Assyria where he was worshipped, children were supposedly burned at his alters. [Picture]

Adriel - Mansions of the moon among the Enochian demons.

Aeshma, Aesma - One of seven Archangels of the Persians. Adopted later into Hebrew mythology as Asmodeus. Has been recorded in history for at least three thousand years. Said to be a small hairy demon able to make men perform cruel acts.

Agaliarept - Assistant Grand General (war)

Agatho - A good demon (Egypt).

Agramon - Demon of Fear.

Agrat-bat-mahlaht [F] - One of Satan's wives and demoness of whores.

Aguares, Agares - Grand Duke of the Eastern region. Commander of 30 legions. Demon of courage. [Picture]

Ahazu - Demon of the Night.

Ahpuch - Devil (Maya).

Ahriman - Representant of the Darkness and Evilness in Zarathustras Persian religion. [See Ormuz]

Aiakos - Underworld Judge.

Aini - Duke.

Alastor - Cruel demon called "the executioner". [Picture]

Aldinach - A demon who causes natural disasters (Egypt).

Allocen - One of the 72 spirits of Solomon.

Allocer, Alocer - Grand Duke. Commander of 36 legions. [Picture]

Alu - Night demon (Semitic).

Amaimon - One of the 72 spirits of Solomon.

Amaymon - Evil spirit. King of South.

Amduscias - Grand Duke of Hades. According to Wierius a demon of music.

Amduscius, Amducious - Grand Duke of Hades. Commander of 29 legions. Popular with Black Magicians. The Destroyer. [Picture]

Amon, Aamon, Ammon - Sun God. Marquis. Much like Lucifer except controls reproduction and life. [Picture]

Amducious - The Destroyer.

Amy - One of the 72 spirits of Solomon. Said to be the supreme president of Hell. He will trade knowledge for the human soul.

Anamelech, Anomylech - Bearer of bad news. An obscure demon. His name means "good king". Some sources claim Anamelech is the moon goddess while Andramalech is the sun god. (Assyrian)

Andras - Grand Marquis of Hell. Causes discord and quarrels. Commander of 30 legions. [Picture]

Andrealphus - One of the 72 spirits of Solomon.

Andromalius - One of the 72 spirits of Solomon.

Andusciassus - Grand Duke.

Anini - One of the 72 spirits of Solomon.

Anneberg - Demon of Mines (Germany).

Ansitif - Possessed sister Barbara of St. Michael in 1643 during the possessions of the nuns at Louviers.

Anti Christ - Satan's tool and servant.

Asael - Desert Demon.

Apollyn - Another name for Satan (Greece).

Apollyon - sometimes known as Abaddon - King of Demons.

Ardat-Lile [F] - A female spirit/demon who weds human beings and wreaks havoc in the dwellings of men. Arioch - Demon of vengeance. He delivers vengence only when called on.

Arphaxat - The demon who possessed Loise de Pinterville during the possession of the nuns at Loudun.

Ashtaroth [F] - Goddess of lust, seduction. Same as Ishtar. Turned male in Christian mythology - Lord Treasurer of Hell. Prince of accusers and inquisitors. Demon of vanity and sloth. One of the 72 spirits of Solomon. Priestess of Friendship.

Askalafos - Son to the river Acheron.

Asmoday, Sydonay - A demon most commonly involved in possession cases, particularily noted in the possession of the Louviers nuns. Evolved from the Persian Aeshma. Somtimes known as Asmodeus. King of Hell according to the Key of Solomon. He can grant invincibility.

Asmodeus - The Destroyer. Prince of Vengence. Demon of Lust, Lechery, Gamling. Banished to the desert by Raphael. Devil of sensuality and luxury, originally "creature of judgment". He was the overseer of all the gambling houses in the court of Hell, and the general spreader of dissipation. In addition, Asmodeus was the demon of lust, responsible for stirring up matrimonial trouble.

Aosoth [F] - Dark female force in the pantheon of the Order of the Nine Angels. Works of passion and death. The name should be vibrated.

Astaroth - Grand Duke of the Western regions. Lord Treasurer. Obtains friendship of great lords.

Astarte [F] - Queen of spirits of the dead.

Atazoth - The most powerful of the Dark Gods in the pantheon of the Order of the Nine Angels. The name itself signifies in one sense the purpose of the cosmic cycles and the opening of the Gates since "Atazoth" as a word means "an increasing of azoth".

Awar - Son of Iblis. Arab demon of laziness.

Aym, Haborym - Grand Duke of Hell. Commander of 26 legions.

Ayperos - Prince of Hell. Subordinate in Grimoire of Pope Honorius. Commander of 36 legions.

Azanigin - Mother of all demons who lie waiting in Earth in the pantheon of the Order of the Nine Angels.

Azathoth - Rules all time and space from a black throne at the center of Chaos.

Azazel, Assaselo - A djinn of smokefree fire. / God demon of war.

Azrael, Satanael - Angel of Death. Standard Bearer of Armies.
